Hi! My name is Jamie Stivers. I am a sophomore at Coppell High School. I've been playing volleyball since I was in 4th grade. Although I also played soccer, softball and tennis, volleyball became my passion. I added sand when I was 11 and have been playing both indoor and sand ever since.
When I started playing volleyball I had a great coach from the first time I touched a ball. Proper form was emphasized over all else. My first club coach continued with that same message. Sand became another outlet where ball control was crucial to success. That ball control has allowed me to be a six rotation player since I first started playing and even when I was a middle blocker. I am currently a six rotation OH for my club team.
As a freshman I played MB for Coppell High School on the JV. I was the team defensive MVP. This year I was one of two sophomores on varsity and played OH and MB, whatever the team needed. We had won the 5A state championship the past two years and had hoped to repeat. Although we didn't get as far into post season as we would have liked, we had a 42-4 record, so a good season we can build on.
I have had success in sand since my first season. I have qualified for nationals every season but have only gone the past three years. I finished 5th my first time, 3rd the next, and last year won the 16U national championship. I am 15 so I am eligible to play in 16's again this summer, but I have chosen to play 18's and women as the game is faster and the competition even stronger and I want to compete against the strongest players possible. USAV ranks sand players and I was the top ranked 16U sand player according to USAV beach in 2013.
In my spare time I like to bake. I have made desserts for The Mansion Residences in Dallas as well as many birthday parties. I have a sister that graduated in June 2014 and played on the Coppell Varsity volleyball team with me. It was a fantastic experience to share the season with her. I have 3 Corgi's - Mia, Sam and Roundbale. I volunteer with Special Olympics and love working with those athletes.
Thank you for visiting my website - please contact me, I'd love to talk to you!
